The Friends of the Library are issuing a challenge to help fund the replacement of the multimedia equipment in the Libraryʼs meeting room. This nearly-ten-year-old-equipment allows the library to do so many things that community members enjoy: showing movies, sharing slides from adventures all over the world, training on everything from invasive plant species to star gazing, presentations from authors, and lots more. The cost for the new technology and its installation is estimated at $27,000. This purchase just isnʼt possible with the libraryʼs current operating budget.
Towards this cost, Books on Tap raised over $3000 and the Town of Franklin awarded the library nearly $3000 through their Non-Profit Funding Pool Grant.
The Friends’ Challenge is this: For every dollar donated, the Friends will match that dollar, up to $5000. If youʼve ever attended events in the libraryʼs meeting room, you know how important the multimedia equipment is. Please help us meet this challenge – consider giving your contribution today.
